I was born in New York City in 1945. After attending American University, I received a bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts and a Master’s Degree in Art Education from New York University. Years later, I went on to receive an Associate’s Degree in Textile Design from Fashion Institute of Technology. I've also studied at the Art Student’s League, Parson’s School of Design and the New School in New York City.
Living and working in New York City, I taught art to children of middle school age. During that time I also freelanced as a textile designer for both the home furnishings and apparel markets.
In the mid 90’s my focus turned towards computer graphics, and as an art educator I incorporated this into my art curriculum. I was awarded for the “successful practice in crossing the digital divide through art and technology” by the United States Department of Education.
Now that I am no longer teaching art, I spend most of my time on the East End of Long Island. With two art related careers behind me I now have the time to pursue my own work. The result of years working in textile design, computer graphics and mixed media is now showing its influence in my current body of work, "Candy Wrapper Collage on Canvas".
